Scientists believe that aging of the body “starts” after 25 years.Of course, the external signs of this process become visible much later. But for different people, aging begins at different ages;for some, “crow's feet” are already visible at 35 years old, while for others, even at 50, they maintain a clear oval face and can boast of the absence of wrinkles.
But facial care is of great importance at any age, they always have specifics. In young people, these are most often problems of increased oiliness and porosity of the skin, acne and hormonal breakouts, to which can be added swelling, dark circles under the eyes, pigmentation and facial wrinkles. You need to combat age-related changes as early as possible, long before they become visible. It will then be extremely difficult, or sometimes simply impossible, to delete them.
Serums can be an active assistant in the fight against aging. These are highly concentrated substances that can penetrate deep into the skin and activate rejuvenation processes there, improve cell division and improve the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
Serums and essences of different types in a huge assortment are sold in cosmetic stores and pharmacies, in the departments of special skin care products. But it is quite possible to make such compositions at home.It will cost less and the product is guaranteed to be free of preservatives and other artificial substances.
Basic properties of serums
Commercial or homemade products have the following set of beneficial properties:
- Prevent age-related skin changes.
- Eliminates fine wrinkles and reduces the depth of larger wrinkles.
- Improved skin color and texture.
- Deep hydration and nutrition.
- Stimulation of metabolism.
- Regulates the functioning of the sebaceous glands.
- Restore firmness and elasticity to the skin.
- Fight against pigmentation.
- Lifting effect.
With this set of qualities, serums occupy a leading position in the fight against skin aging and the appearance of wrinkles.

Method of use
The serum is a concentrate, so it requires very careful and measured use.In this case, more doesn't mean better at all.The serum should be applied to well-cleansed, damp skin, a few drops at a time, and gently spread over the face. There is no need to rub it or try to massage it;all you can do is gently “work” the product into the skin with your fingertips.
Most serums are not intended for independent use, therefore after applying them, it is recommended to “cover” the skin with a layer of emulsion or cream. The serum, penetrating into the deep layers of the dermis, will “take” with it the active ingredients of these treatments.
Abuse of such drugs will not immediately help you look several years younger, but will cause reactivity and irritation. You may even develop an allergic reaction to the components of the product. For the serum to be beneficial, it must be used correctly, regularly, preferably as a treatment.
Make serums at home
Homemade serums have a simple recipe and affordable ingredients. To prepare them, you do not need any special knowledge or skills, you just need to strictly follow the recipe. The range of serums is quite extensive, so before preparing, you should choose exactly the options that best suit your skin type and its requirements.
Before creating a product, you should carefully read the recipe and make sure that everything in it is clear and accessible.
Important! The finished serum should be checked for the absence of an allergic reaction. To do this, apply a small amount of the composition to the skin for about a quarter of an hour.If during this time no changes have occurred, redness, swelling, itching or burning have not appeared on the hand, you can safely use the product. However, if any changes occur, the composition should be immediately washed off with detergent. If the reaction is very severe, you should take an antihistamine tablet.
Chicken eggshell serum mask
To get the product you need two fresh chicken eggs. They are carefully washed, broken, the shells are separated and cleaned of all residues. The shells are dried and ground into cereals.
Then the resulting substance is poured with boiling water and boiled for 6-8 hours. The composition is removed from the stove, the liquid is poured into a separate container and the shell mass is filled with whey. When the remains dissolve, the finished whey should be poured into a container and placed in the refrigerator.
Masks are made with this substance 2-3 times every 7 days. The liquid drained at the beginning of the process also does not need to be thrown away. You can create different masks from it.

Homemade vitamin serums
Vitamins are very important for all skin types, not just those that enter the body. From these beneficial substances, you can prepare serums for different skin types:
For oily and porous complexions with poor tone and/or pigmentation
To create such a serum, you will need vitamin C (ascorbic acid), purified water and vegetable glycerin. All of these components can be purchased at the pharmacy. All components must be taken in equal proportions and mixed thoroughly, to achieve complete dissolution and homogeneity of the mixture. The substance should be stored in a dark container, as vitamin C is unstable and easily decomposes in light.
You can use the serum morning and evening in winter, provided you apply a sunscreen with a high SPF, and in summer it is better to use it only in the evening and also remember to protect your skin well from the sun, otherwise the risk of age spots appearing is high.
For dry, discolored and wrinkled skin
To prepare this serum you will need olive oil and vitamin E - 1 ampoule. The ingredients are taken in equal proportions.Simply mix the composition, apply it morning and evening in a thin layer or apply it to problem and wrinkled areas.
If olive oil is not available, it can be substituted with almond, peach or apricot. But olive oil is preferable, because it contains the active ingredient squalane, which is beneficial for skin aging.
Sour milk whey
Regular curd can be an excellent raw material for producing serum for normal and combination skin.
Curdled milk or milk that has begun to sour is poured into a saucepan and put on fire. When it boils, reduce the heat to low and let sit for 10 minutes. After cooling, the mixture must be filtered.
It is better to use warm whey and not prepare it in large quantities, as it is poorly stored and loses its beneficial properties. The serum can be used to wash your face, it mattifies the skin well, eliminates oily shine, helps to cope with freckles, marks left after acne and pigmentation due to excessive exposure to the sun.
The serum can be used as a toner, remembering to wash it off after drying on the face.It also works great in ice cube form. You can wipe your skin with it in the morning. This procedure perfectly tones and refreshes the skin, relieves puffiness and gradually whitens spots.
Whey can be added to homemade masks. The best effect is achieved when the procedures are carried out ongoing, at least for a month, 2 times a week.
Using whey, you can perform a very effective facial peel:
- 2 tablespoons of whey.
- 1 teaspoon of ground coffee or coffee grounds.
If the skin does not tolerate coffee well, it can be replaced with peas ground into flour or bran or oatmeal. The mixture is stirred and gently applied to the skin along the massage lines.Work delicately over the entire face, avoiding eyes and lips with very sensitive skin. The process should take no more than 3 minutes.
Once finished, wash with cold water and apply toner and cream.Repeat the peel twice a week for oily skin and once every two weeks for dry skin.
Using whey, you can make a product that works as both a delicate scrub and a mask.To do this, take a little whey and black breadcrumbs, soak it and massage the face with the resulting mass.Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with plenty of water.
Serums for wrinkles under the eyes
You can prepare serums at home to nourish the skin under the eyes and eliminate fine lines. Two recipes turned out better than others:
On almond or any other base oil
The serum contains:
- Almond oil - one tablespoon.
- Aloe vera gel – one tablespoon.
- Carrot oil – 3 drops.
- Chamomile oil – 3 drops.
First, all the components of the oil are mixed, then aloe gel is added. The composition can be enriched by adding vitamins A and E. The mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for a maximum of 20 days;it must be shaken before use. This product is suitable not only for the area under the eyes, but also for all problem areas of the face, neck, décolleté and body.
With cocoa butter
The composition includes a teaspoon of cocoa and avocado butter, 2 teaspoons of coconut butter and shea butter, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, a capsule of vitamins A and E.
The oils are combined and heated in a water bath without overheating.Leave to cool, add the vitamins and the gel.The mass must be mixed very thoroughly, or better yet, beaten with a mixer or mixer.Transfer to a container fitted with a dispenser and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
These two serums should be combined with moisturizers.
The use of homemade serums in combination with regular care and cosmetic procedures can have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin, prevent premature aging and excessive dryness of the skin.It is an excellent skincare product, but it cannot replace all other types of cosmetic products, so serums should only be used in combination. With this approach and use of the course, they will lead to the most pronounced and long-lasting results.
